About the event
Join A Likely Story as they host Kentucky author, Dr. Jena Hinds, as she reads from her children's book Just Breathe. This event will include a story time reading of the book and a demonstration on breathing techniques for kids. Dr. Hinds will also be available to answer any questions and sign books for the audience.

For many years, Dr. Jena Hinds dreamed of being an educator and author. As a mother, she gained vast amounts of knowledge that would one day become useful in both of these professions. Dr. Hinds attended the University of Findlay where she completed her bachelor and master degrees in the field of teaching and special education. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction: Special Education at the University of Toledo.
Dr. Hinds spent 20 years teaching in the special education setting with 15 of those years spent at Findlay City Schools as an Intervention Specialist. She is currently a professor in education and specialized in the special education field.
Dr. Hinds has published 5 children’s books. All are playing a role in young reader's lives. Her very first book, This is ME developed through her years of teaching children that were trying to achieve and learn with ADD and ADHD. It is here that her passion came alive for assisting these youngsters to become successful learners. This carried over into her role as mother when one of her own children was diagnosed with ADD. This story comes from the trials and tribulations her own child faced. Dr. Hinds hopes to enlighten others on acceptance and educate about diversity though this story.
